Super Quick

Super quick post today – go check out my super exciting bleach-a-riffic guest post at Jen’s blog.

Jen is awesome. If you aren’t reading her blog already, well you probably should be.

My husband and I just returned from our trip to Asheville. It was amazing.

The leaves. The kind local folk. The goat cheese grits… blueberry glazed filet mignon… fish tacos… lobster nachos… corn and crab chowder… jalapeno dusted wahoo… and local beer. The mountain vistas everywhere you turn. Oh my, this place is awesome.

The bad news? I currently weigh about 600 pounds. Seriously, I am afraid to step on my scale.

Possibly a picture-heavy post in a day or so. But now I must get my life back in order. In the meantime, I shall leave you with a crappy photo I took that does no justice whatsoever to the beauty that is Asheville. I shall steal some of my husband’s photos in the coming days.

How was your weekend, Internet? Did you eat as much as I did? (Doubtful.)

  1. I was not near as busy as you – I can’t wait to see the pictures, it looks beautiful! Sunday was spent watching football, eating chili and baking banana bread muffins. So yeah…not to busy 😉
Hopefully it won’t take long to get back into the swing of things – I love taking vacations, but HATE coming back from them!

  2. close…we went out to brunch with friends to a fancy-schmancy gourmet buffet place with shrimp and 18 salads and dim sum and sushi and bagels and lox and chocolate croissants and crabcakes Benedict and cookies and citrus madelines and ohmgod I am still in a food coma.

  3. I gained at least as much weight as you! It was my birthday weekend, and there was chocolate truffle cheesecake (to die for), endless Mexican food, pitchers of mimosas and mexican martinis, home made chocolate chip cookies, etc., etc., etc. I have a new roll on my stomach.

My post birthday lunch? Tomato soup and cottage cheese. Tonight for dinner? SALAD. And water. Yum. (Barf.)

Cheers to a wonderful weekend and time with your husband!!!! I am so glad it was wonderful 🙂

  4. Oh my goodness, that sounds AMAZING.

i might have rivaled how much you ate due to a friend’s (stupidly, but also, beautifully, timed) purchase of a whole bag of Halloween candy. WEEKS before Thanksgiving!

Welcome back, and can’t wait to hear about the trip!

  5. I probably ate more than I realize. We went home for the weekend, so we spent a lot of time hanging out and… eating. My dad had recently been hunting, so they had a large stash of deer-jerky, and then my SIL made this pumpkin dip with apples and graham crackers for dipping, and then we had delicious burgers and…. the list goes on and on. 🙂
