Before today, I would have said without hesitation that a wad of Kleenex is the worst possible thing you can run through the washing machine.
Now, I know for a fact that a pull-up is much much MUCH much worse.

Crayons and Sharpie markers are other contenders for Worst.
Yes, I second that, along with Swistle’s crayons. I have thankfully not washed a Sharpie but I shuddered in horror at the thought. Another thing I have managed to do was wash AND DRY a lip balm which just melted in the dryer and left big giant oil splotches on everything. I have to keep a little bowl on top of the washer to empty the kid’s pockets into – but it took several mishaps for me to learn to check them.
For me the worst is things that end up in the dryer and wreak havoc. The aforementioned crayons, ink pens, silly putty…
Worst thing to run through the dryer: wrapped up already chewed gum. The inside of my dryer will never recover. 🙁
