I Lysoled My Bare Feet, Too

What is the worst thing you can spill all over your entire kitchen?

Aside from something like paint or molasses or butter (how do you clean up butter?!?) or something like vomit (because ew), I’d say sugar is the big contender.

I say this with some authority because I just spilled half a pound of sugar all over my kitchen counter and the floor.

It was one of those mornings. I didn’t get any sleep last night, or the night before, which means I am extra tired and grouchy. Then the furniture movers forgot our nightstands. Then when all I wanted to do was make a cup of tea, I must not have sealed the Ziploc bag in which we store our sugar. As I was reaching up over my head to shove it into the top cupboard, it opened and poured all over my arms, my cellphone, the toaster oven, the counter, and the floor.

All those stupid miniscule sugar crystals scatter to the far corners of the kitchen, and they got stuck to my bar feet, so that when I went to grab the Lysol and the paper towels, I ended up tracking sugar everywhere.

Spraying Lysol on the sugar just made it invisible, so lord knows if I actually got it all.

What a good start to the day.

  1. Sugar is AWFUL to clean up, OMG. There is no easy way to do it. It may be sticking to your feet for weeks- trust me, I know.

And I’m interested to hear what it’s like to be a doctor’s wife. I work with attorneys (I am not an attorney, though), another profession chock-full of stereotypes. Glad you found me!
