Okay, so have you seen the latest CBS Cares commercial?
First of all, the cute actor/announcer guy (whom I don’t recognize) says something like, “looking for a gift for YOUR WOMAN this Christmas?”
Not, “the woman in your life.” Not, “your significant other.” Not even “that special woman.”
No, “YOUR WOMAN.”
Might as well just take it all the way and say “YOUR BIATCH” or something.
Anyway, he wants to know if you’ve found her a holiday gift.
No? You haven’t? Looking for ideas? Because he has one.
Schedule her a Pap smear.
Yep. That’s the super fantastic Christmas gift idea.
Sign her up for an hour or two in a waiting room crowded with coughing, sniffling, swine-flu addled patients… a paper gown that is barely long enough to cover her naughty bits… a good 15 minute wait on a paper-covered exam table… an extremely uncomfortable eternity of foot-in-the-stirrups, speculum-in-the-hoo-ha, awkward-conversation-with-the-doctor, swabbing-of-the-cervix down-home fun…
It’s the one gift Santa can’t bring her, the guy says.
Is this bizarre to anyone but me?
Let me tell you… If my husband scheduled me a Pap smear in lieu of a Christmas gift, I would… Well, I’m honestly too baffled to know what I would do. Stand there looking baffled, I guess.
Baffled. That’s a weird word.
But it’s not as weird as suggesting you get your WOMAN a Pap smear for the holidays.
Okay I understand the whole public service announcements, but suggesting that a man schedule his “wo-man’s” papsmear, now thats just wierd!
I agree whole heartedly. Why not just schedule us a round in the ring with Oscar De la hoya??? I mean seriously!
You have to wonder who actually wrote those things and who in the world APPROVED them for the air? Crazy.
Omgosh, that is absolutely hysterical! I am dying over here. And could you imagine. You get a cute little box under the tree that says “Hey hunny, instead of getting you that sparkly beautiful necklace you were looking for, I got you a PAP SMEAR! Love you!”
Wow!
Wow, I would love to meet the mind that come up with that gem. Weirdsville!
Oh is that what you meant by company? Ha ha! I used walmart – they seem to be the cheapest – 33 cents a piece!
Freaking hilarious. You made me giggle. 🙂
I just saw this commercial and almost died!
